What The Lady Wants was originally released by Harlequin Temptation and rereleased under the Mira imprint in 2002. Mitch Peatwick, working as a private investigator to prove to stockbroker buddies that he can make the business profitable in a year, takes on more than he expects when Mae Belle enters his life. Sweet, beautiful Mae comes from a family filled with disreputable figures -- which isn't Mitch's biggest problem. Mae's pulling a bit of a fast one, and she's hired Mitch because she needs a <acronym title="private investigator">PI</acronym> without brains.
