The dreaded hoof-beats thundered on the moor. His name was Darkness, and like the darkness he descended swiftly, furtively, instilling terror into the hearts of unsuspecting young women. What did this villain want from the beautiful Serena? Her purse? Her jewels? No. A desire for booty far more precious than these shone from his glittering eyes. Yet Serena sensed that somehow this cruel highwayman, this demon of the night, was bound irrevocably to her destiny ... a destiny her foolish heart tried hopelessly to resist.
