Deborah had been duly warned. Lord Mulgarth was incapable of lasting affection. Deborah must be careful not to fall prey to his charms. Of course he wanted her, but in a way she could never allow. But she was extremely young and innocent, not at all like the painted and perfumed ladies of the court of King Charles the II. She was determined not to become another of Lord Mulgarth's long line of mistresses! If only she were not so attracted to him.
