Fern hadn't known much in the way of happiness where men were concerned. And she'd learned to avoid girlish dreams.

Then Mr. Right turned up in the shape of Piers Warrender, dynamic, attractive and altogether too disturbing for Fern's peace of mind. She couldn't help falling in love with him.

But what was she to Piers - someone important in his life? Surely his decision to marry her meant that he cared - unless it was just expediency on his part?
