Poor Appalachian hillbilly heroine is taken with the local shopkeeper's son who is one of the town's elite and who has hopes of marrying the local pastor's daughter, not the poor illiterate hillbilly girl who keeps following him around.
Funny romantic mayhem rule in this book. Things never go as they seem and certainly not as the hero wants them to go.
