Rising Star was a promotion used in the Harlequin American Romance line to highlight authors new to the line, though not necessarily previously unpublished. In August 1993, to celebrate the line's 500th book, all four books were by new authors, with each designated a Rising Star title. The designation was then used on individual titles after that.
