User:Sahara Kelly
Born and raised in England, Sahara now makes her home on the left side of the Big Pond, admiring the odd symmetry now and again. Married with one son, she likes nothing better than to dive into a new story, create new characters and then take them on a wild ride wherever her imagination wanders. Genres are fields through which she skips with joyful abandon, and over the last decade, more than fifty books have appeared with her name on them. Her British ancestry probably has something to do with her passion for Regencies, so there are quite a few historical set erotic romances featuring the Belles and Beaux of the Ton.
Meeting writer S.L. Carpenter changed Sahara's life. They decided to embark on a co-writing adventure with S.L. writing the hero and Sahara the heroine. This venture was the first of its kind - a man and a woman writing together - and they ignored the fact that they lived on opposite sides of the country and were married to other people. It was a crazy idea, but it worked, and the PARTNERS IN PASSION debuted to critical acclaim. Since then, Scott and Sahara have co-authored eight books with more on the way. They seldom run out of ideas and always add their own unique brand of humor to the hotly erotic tales. Best friends, co-writers and possessors of some of the worst jokes in the world, this is one partnership that continues unabated.
When not writing, Sahara can most often be found catching up on her reading (she admits she's hung up on Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter, and also likes a good solid mystery now and again. Elizabeth George is on her shelves, along with Nora Roberts, Kathy Reichs and more than a few Jayne Ann Krentz volumes.) If books don't appeal, then Sahara might slip into her "designer" mode. She loves creating costumes, from the sketches to the finished product. A charter member of the She-Who-Dies-With-The-Most-Fabric-Wins club, there are bolts of organdy stacked along with brocades and silks. Glittery things clog up her vacuum cleaner and she was once accused of having eviscerated a fairy on her dining room table. The red sparkles still surface now and again. The results of all this chaos can usually be seen at the RT Booklovers Convention and in truly awful photos over the next months. At which point, Sahara swears she'll never make another costume, denying her addiction. It gets the better of her within two months.
