Nino the Apache was out with his band, raiding and slaughtering. A young brave to hold such a high position as a raider, but the hard-riding troopers were finding to their chagrin that as a leader he had few equals. Nino hated the White Eyes as few Apaches did, because scalp hunters had killed his mother and shot his brother in a skirmish.
