USA Today bestselling author Peggy Webb has penned more than 100 novels and is the most prolific writer her home state of Mississippi has ever produced. This beloved and iconic author writes in multiple genres under multiple pen names. As Peggy Webb, she writes bestselling crime thrillers and cozy mysteries. Her crime thrillers have been Amazon bestsellers and have earned accolades from both readers and literary critics. Reviewers call Peggy “one of the Southern literary greats.”

Peggy’s popular Southern Cousins Mystery series earned her the title “comic genius” from her peers. Her literary fiction written as both Anna Michaels and Elaine Hussey received critical acclaim. The Sweetest Hallelujah (Elaine Hussey) was compared to To Kill a Mockingbird. The late, great Pat Conroy called her “a truly gifted writer” and deemed her work “astonishing.”

Peggy holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Mississippi University for Women and a Master of Arts degree from the University of Mississippi. A former adjunct instructor of writing at Mississippi State University, she has also written more than 200 magazine humor columns and two screenplays based on her work.

This native Mississippian has millions of books in print in more than 25 languages. Peggy’s novels consistently appear on best seller lists and garner awards. Among her awards are Reviewer’s Choice, Maggie, Golden Medallion, Wordweaving Award of Excellence, and the prestigious Romantic Times Pioneer Award. Dubbed “the Queen of Comedy,” Peggy forged the way for the romantic comedy genre. Her novel, Driving Me Crazy, was submitted for a Pulitzer.

Her friends describe her as down-to-earth as the characters in her novels. She readily admits she could be one of the fierce Logan sisters in her crime thriller series from Bookouture. She even concedes she might resemble M’lynn, the role she played in Steel Magnolias at Tupelo Community Theater. But she denies being the White Witch, from the role she played in The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe.

Peggy lives in a cottage in the Deep South among the rose gardens she planted. A gifted pianist and singer, she passed her love of music to her family. Her son plays guitar and harmonica, one of her grandsons plays piano, and both her granddaughters sing. Her grandson David Webb enjoys photography. Many of his fabulous photos (credited to him) appear throughout this website. Peggy frequently posts her music videos on FB. She invites you to follow her on all her social media platforms, and she thanks her many readers for years of loyalty and support.
