Talk:Mills and Boon Historical Romance By The Numbers
--Romancewiki 10:25, 29 April 2007 (PDT)I noticed that there are some of these titles which have been used by other authors, e.g. Shattered Vows. How do you make sure that the title as listed here doesn't go to the wrong book? Is there a method for dealing with several books with the same title?
- When you list the title you create a hidden version of the title like this:
- [[Shattered Vows - Laura V|"Shattered Vows"]]
- Before the "pipe" you put the title with the author's name, and then after the pipe you put the title as you want it to show in the list. This would then create a potential new page and link to that new page where the book title shows up with the author's name as part of the page. On the book list page when more than one book has the same title you use the same trick but after the pipe you put a number. See the book page B and listings for the Bartered Bride. Does that make sense? --Kay T 13:18, 23 April 2007 (PDT)
Thanks, Kay. I changed the links for the titles that were the same as already existing entries and I've made new pages for some of these authors, just so I could stick in the books and make sure the new titles were the same there as on this list. I didn't put any on the book page listings because I wasn't adding new content about any of the books. Hope that's OK. --Laura V 15:10, 23 April 2007 (PDT)
- happy to help. --Kay T 16:19, 23 April 2007 (PDT)
- When I have a free moment, I'm going to create a category to the effect of "Same Title, Different Author" to gather all these duplicate titles in a single place. They hold a strange sort of fascination for me. And thanks, Kay! I've been crazy busy this week. One last thing -- on the books page, when I've listed multiple versions of a title, I'm putting the numbers in chron order (number 1 being the first time the title was used, etc). Hunter's Moon is the current "most used" title, though I have faith that will change as we add more content! --Romancewiki 10:25, 29 April 2007 (PDT)
Breaking up the list
Can someone break this list up either with headings or by making separate pages for years as was done with some of the other numbered series? It is sort of unwieldy now. and I know that there on one of you who have already done this!--Kay T 20:01, 29 April 2007 (PDT)
Done!
I moved the book listings to pages broken down into lists of 100. --Kay T 18:18, 9 May 2007 (PDT)
