William Morrow and Company was founded in 1926. In 1981 it was acquired by the Hearst Corporation and sold - together with Avon - to the News Corpoartion, mother company of HarperCollins, in 1999. William Morrow is now a Hardcover imprint of HarperCollins and many titles are later released in Paperback by Avon.
