Debra Dier, aka Debra Dier Goldacker, was born in Niagara Falls. Graduating with a degree in Information Systems Management she worked in data processing but was never quite satisfied with this career. In 1990 she left it behind and became a fill-time writer.
After reading Shanna by Kathleen Woodiwiss she decided she would try to write a historical romance. Her first novel took two and a half years to write but has never been published. She realized that she needed to learn her craft and set out to teach herself how to write. The next novel she completed was sold and published in 1993 by Leisure under the title Surrender The Dream. Apart from historicals she wrote paranormal romances. Her latest book was published in 2002.
