Biography

Pauline Baird Jones is the award-winning author of eight novels of action-adventure, suspense, romantic suspense and comedy-mystery. She's also written two non-fiction books, Adapting Your Novel for Film and Made-up Mayhem which will release in print in 2008. Her seventh novel, Out of Time, an action-adventure romance set in World War II, is an EPPIE 2007 winner in the single title/mainstream category. Her eighth novel, The Key, released in 2007 from LL Dreamspell. She also has a short story in The Final Twist anthology, Dead and Breakfast. And will have stories appearing in A Death in Texas and Mysteries from the Green Mist.

Originally from Wyoming, she and her family moved from New Orleans to Texas before Katrina.

Pauline Baird Jones was born and raised in Wyoming, and then lived in New Orleans with her husband and children for 18 years before moving to Houston TX in 2003. For four years, she wrote a humor column for her Wyoming hometown paper, The Lovell Chronicle, about adjusting to life in New Orleans (which is the polar opposite of Wyoming!).

She's always loved romantic suspense, but didn't start her own until she got the idea for her first novel, Pig in a Park, while watching Scarecrow and Mrs. King reruns. Her blend of romantic suspense and humor is, she believes, a natural outcome of growing up in a large family.

"Lots of love and laughter," she says, "but you're never quite sure you'll survive your siblings idea of what's fun."

Her seventh book, Out of Time, was released in 2006 in electronic and trade paperback by Hard Shell Word Factory and is an EPPIE 2007 winner.

Her eighth book, The Key, released in September, 2007 by LL Dreamspell.

Her first novel, Pig in a Park was the first electronic book to be nominated for Romantic Times Reviewer's Choice award and received a Dorothy Parker Award for excellence.

The Last Enemy, first book in the Lonesome Lawmen series, won the first ever Romantic Times Reviewer's Choice award for E-Books, awarded in November 2000 (for 1999 Releases).

Her second book in the series Byte Me, was a Reviewer's Top Pick for 2000 in the RunningRiver Reader and was also been nominated for the Best Ebook Reviewer's Choice Award from Romantic Times Magazine. It was also an EPPIE 2001 Finalist in the romantic suspense category.

Missing You, the last book in her Lonesome Lawmen series released in 2002 and won the RT Reviewer's Choice award for Best Small Press Romance. It is also available in ebook and trade paperback.

Do Wah Diddy Die, the book formerly known as I Love Luci - When I Don't Want to Kill Her, was also an EPPIE 2001 Finalist in the romantic suspense category. It's available from Hard Shell Word Factory.

Pauline received the eBook Excellence Award in December 2000, awarded to those who strive for excellence in the e-publishing industry, and an ePub Ambassador Award in 1999. She also won a Fire To Fly award in 1998 from Futures Magazine for an article she co-wrote on electronic publishing.

Pauline is a member of Sisters in Crime, The Final Twist, SINC-IC (the Sisters in Crime Internet Chapter), and SINC Guppies.
