SLOW POISON. Clarice Gilmore took a job as private nurse to a wealthy matron, Mrs. Flora Avery, and found herself fighting a losing battle against creeping, insidious death. She was sure someone was poisoning her patient, but only gradually did it dawn on her that she was the most likely suspect -- and that everyone else in the house apparently hated her.
