Phaze sells fiction in the following lengths. Stories of 35K words and higher are eligible for print.

* HeatSheet: 5,000 - 12,000 words (short stories)
* Themed HeatSheet: 5,000 - 18,000 (stories with a special theme, 4-6 lines published annually)
* Photon: 12,000 - 30,000 words (novella)
* Comet: 30,000 - 60,000 words (category)
* Eclipse: 60,000 - 90,000 words (novel) 
* Quasar: 90,000+ words (mega-novel)

Phaze classifies their [[Erotic Romance|erotic romance]] on a one to five scale:

*1 - Exclusive pairings, heavy sensual to explicit scenes, mainly vanilla
*2 - Exclusive pairings, explicit scenes, maybe some toys or daring situations
*3 - Exclusive pairings and maybe multiple partners, toys, anal play, light bondage
*4 - Exclusive pairings, multiple partners and/or menage, anal play, BDSM
*5 - No holds barred, heavy BDSM, menage and more, fetishes
