Viscount Colin Sedgewick awakens from an accident to find an angel with red hair by side. Meg Ashburton immediately recognized the unconscious man as the one who'd asked her to dance during her disastrous season six years earlier. Though she has filled out since her days of being tall, skinny, and awkward, Meg still retains a certain gawkiness, and despite Sedgewick's attraction, the two don't communicate well.
