'''Beverly Jenkins''' (b. 1951) is a best-selling author of [[contemporary]] and [[Historical|historical]] romances featuring [[African-American]] and [[Multi-Cultural|multicultural]] characters. Her use of 19th-century African-American history is unusual in the romance genre.

Jenkins has received numerous awards, including five Waldenbooks Best Seller Awards, two Career Achievement Awards from Romantic Times magazine, and a Gold Pen Award from the Black Writers Alliance. In 1999, she was voted one of the Favorite 50 African-American Authors of the 20th Century by AALBC.com, the nation's largest online African-American book club. Jenkins has written over a dozen romances and two [[Young_Adult|young adult]] historical novels for [[Avon]]. She has also written several [[Suspense|romantic suspense]] novels for [[Harper Torch]]. She lives in Michigan, where she is active as a community volunteer and a lay minister in the Episcopal Church.
