The Shipboard Romance was a popular romance sub-genre in the 1950s and 1960s. Similar to the [[:Category:Cabin Romance|Cabin Romance]], the characters of the story are thrown together in a confined space for a period of time. Surrounded by miles of ocean, the hero and heroine of the novel face various challenges -- including the fact that neither can make an easy escape from uncomfortable situations.&lt;br /&gt;
