==Book Description==

Neil Haslam, newly appointed principal of the Technical Institute in a remote country town, came sweeping into it like the traditional new broom. Not one on the staff, he declared, had an original idea. The whole place was mouldering in a backwater, and he intended to see that sweeping changes were carried out, or else! But there was one member of the staff who did have some original ideas of her own, and she was not going to be browbeaten by any Mr. Neil Haslam. And indeed Sharon Birch did make Neil alter his ideas, in more ways than one. But then, just as the two of them were beginning to understand each other and develope a certain respect for each other's outlook, Neil's old love came back into his life to spoil it all.
