==Book Description==

Sister Adelaide Peters was delighted to be chosen, under the new exchange scheme, as the British representative to work in an Amsterdam hospital for a year. It would be most interesting, it was an honour, of course, and there would be plenty of challenge. Needless to say, there were problems, but Adelaide was used to those and soon took them in her stride. But the biggest challenge came from the distinguished doctor, Coenraad van Essen. He just couldn't be ignored, either in the hospital or outside it. Adelaide had to admit thtat she was becoming more and more aware of him - but how did he feel about her? He seemed to admire her as a nurse, but his private life seemed to be so taken up with his old friend Margriet Keizer - did Adelaide really have much hope of anything more?
