In 1963, book number 768 by Kate Aitken, a noted Canadian journalist, marked the last Harlequin published by a non-Mills & Boon author for many years to come. Non-romance titles were no longer produced under the Harlequin imprint, though the publisher continued to publish other types of fiction under imprints such as Worldwide Library and Gold Eagle.
