It is never a wise thing for a nurse to let her heart rule her head, especially where her patients are concerned, but Lucy was so kind-hearted that she found it difficult not to do so. On her last spell of night duty before she took her S.R.N. exams, one would have thought she would have quite enough to cope with, but still she found time to deal sympathetically with patients who would get too fond of her, try to help a fellow-nurse who was in serious trouble, and sort out her own private problems - and they were complicated enough in all conscience! Was it love or only friendship that she felt for Colin Latham, the R.S.O.? Was she being wise to encourage Alan Tavistock, paralysed by polio, to lean on her for support and encouragement? And what of the consultant, Mark Kennedy? Altogether, Lucy's sweet nature seemed to be leading her into far more trouble than she deserved.

Book Description
