Book Description

In a misguided effort to keep her father from traveling to Africa with artist Gabriel Kenyon, teenaged Kate Talisford offers her body in exchange. Four years later, Gabe returns to England with the news that Kate's father has died -- only to discover that the rogue Sir Charles has already shared the news. Kate, still stinging from Gabe's rejection, is stunned to learn that he's been named her guardian...especially since Sir Charles says he was tasked with the job.

Gabe is convinced that Charles murdered Kate's father. Kate is convinced one man is lying to her -- and since Gabe hurt her, she decides it's him.
