This Young Adult title tells the story of Loi, an Amerasian girl working for her uncle and fighting the prejudices of her village. Only Khai, a buffalo herder, wants to be with her. When an evil soldier tries to marry Loi, she and Khai run away to Ho Chi Minh City, where they're separated. Loi is now searching for her family and finds help from a street-smart urchin and a fairy godfather like man.
This is an updated version of the classic Cinderella story.
