Book Description

Gemma Halliday's debut novel also became the first novel in her "High Heels" series. "Spying" tells the story of shoe designer Maddie Springer, who is hot on the trail of her missing boyfriend. $20 million disappeared from his company's bank account, but Maddie has a more pressing need: her period is late. Despite being told to stay out of the investigation by LA cop Jack Ramirez, Maddie and her best friend Dana decide to investigate after they encounter a dead body -- after all, who better to track down the owner of a pair of stilettos than Maddie?

The novel's setting ranges from the porn enclaves in the San Fernando Valley to swanky Beverly Hills. Halliday's style mixes humor, fashion, and mystery seamlessly.
