Book Description

Anne Elliot let her true love get away after being persuaded by a trusted friend that the match was not acceptable. Seven years later, Anne is still alone and Wentworth, now a rich and famous British Navy captain, has returned. She now must face his rejection and the knowledge that she will always be alone.

Persuasion was Jane Austen's final published novel. Though a sober in tone than novels like Pride And Prejudice, Austen continues her tradition of sharply observed social behavior and satire. It was made into a movie starring Ciaran Hinds and Amanda Root.
