Hannah Garrett loves the dark -- it lets her hide her secrets. She's on the run from the man who is trying to kill her and hiding her past is her only goal. Until she finds herself in a steamy encounter with Ward Cassidy a man hiding a secret of his own. He's in town, trying to track down a notorious embezzler, and the strange behavior of Hannah Garrett arouses his suspicions (among other body parts). When the power goes out during a never-ending heat wave, Ward and Hannah find themselves trapped in a dark elevator with nothing to do. Except that.

Jill Monroe is known for turning ordinary items (like ice cubes) into almost fetishistic objects and carrying her theme through the book. She captures her characters with both humor and angst.
