Wanda Lane has hit a serious string of bad luck -- losing her job while she's in the hospital recuperating from a head injury, plus her evil ex-husband is hanging around. Despite her very bad attitude, Wanda gets a second chance when a handsome lawyer devotes himself to helping her. Wanda is not the sweetest, kindest character in fiction, but grows through the course of the story.
Lani Diane Rich wrote her debut novel while participating in National Novel Writing Month](also known as NaNoWriMo), an event held every November.
