Audie Adams is known as "Homey Helen," author of a Chicago household hints column and a TV personality. She is the daughter of the original "Homey Helen" and has only taken over as the front for the column since her mother's death during a recent mugging. The true author is Marjorie, her mother's partner, which is a good thing since Audie is a clutz and knows nothing about household hints. Audie has, however, been receiving increasingly threatening anonymous letters and Detective Stacy Quinn has been assigned to investigate.
