Her first novel, Like A Lover, was published by Avon as part of their Velvet Glove imprint in 1984. When her novel The Patriot was published, her first name was misspelled as "Lynne". She is part of the "Lip Service Gang", a group blog featuring Michaels, Terese Ramin, Caridad Pineiro, Linda Randall Wisdom, and Judith Rochelle.
