Patricia McLinn received her BA in English Composition and a Masters in Journalism from Northwestern University. She began her career as a sports writer for several papers and ended up at the Washington Post's sports department. She went part-time in order to write romance novels and her debut novel, [[Hoops]], was published in 1990.
