Book Description

A widow, Lady Cassandra St. Ives is happy leading a life based on scholarship, corresponding with Basilio, the Italian Count Montevarchi, a man she envisions as middle-aged. She accepts an invitation to visit him in Tuscany, and is shocked to find that he is breathtakingly handsome and virile. He is just as surprised to find that she is a beautiful young woman. Promises keep them from marrying, but they decide to indulge in a passionate affair.
