Dorchester Publishing has been publishing mass market books since 1971. Although mostly known for romance, Dorchester also publishes horror, thrillers and Westerns titles, as well as pulp-style mysteries. Romances were published in the Leisure Books imprint. In 1994, a new imprint, Love Spell, was created to handle newer types of romance that did not fit with the traditional Leisure imprint, such as time-travel, paranormal, futuristic, faerie tale, and other books which involve a little magic in the affairs of the heart.
