Julie Hunter was pleased with her quiet life as a partner in Lustre, Inc., a Chicago silver-recovery plant.  Until the night she stumbled on a corpse and a killer in the plant's parking lot.
 
 
 
Most baffling:  when police arrived, both killer and corpse had vanished!
 
 
 
The "killer" was Colin Marshall, private eye.  He swore he'd been set up to take the murder rap.  Worse, Julie had fouled up the murderer's vicious scheme and was now a prime target.  As Julie and the strong, very appealing Colin groped for the truth, the real killer stalked, intent on burying it forever....
