DANCE WITH DEATH... The sound of the drum came in the night, incessant, never stopping, never pausing. It was a ghost drum, Andrea knew, played by a spectral drummer. She slipped out of bed and dressed quickly, then followed the summoning beat out of the house. The house was silent; apparently she was the only one awakened. Moonlight brightened the path through the forest, and soon she reached a clearing ... and the sound of the drum ceased. A fire lit the center of the clearing, lending a weird light to the scene. A dozen Indians were dancing around the fire, while another was beating the drum ... yet all was absolutely quiet. It was as though a blanket of silence had been dropped over the forest, and now that Andrea had answered the summons, no other sound would be permitted to escape. She shivered, frightened, but unable to tear herself away...
