But in a town as small as Heritage, Missouri, such things were inevitable. In one day, Elaine Farrell encountered Judge Nathan Stewart not once, but twice. The first time, he lectured her about speeding. The second time, he asked her to dinner. They should never have fallen in love, but they did.
