Harlequin Gothic Romance was a series of "category romance specials" released by Harlequin in the mid-1980s. Unlike the regular category romance lines, it was not issued monthly, but rather, periodically in sets of two or three once or twice a year. The other series of "category romance specials," Harlequin Regency Romance was later spun-off into its own monthly line, something that did not come to pass with the Gothics.
