It's a source of great pride and wonder to me that I've been very much a part of one of the world's most successful and iconic publishing houses, Mills and Boon, As a young mother with an infant son, when I sat down at the kitchen table an wrote my first book (in longhand!), little did I know I was embarking on a career that was to sustain, reward and offer me fulfilment for just about my entire adult life. I would say Mills & Boon has ''been'' my life...It should be said Mills & Boon not only offers pleasure to our readership but comfort in times of family grief, turmoil and stress. My own readership has told me this in so many touching ways.

Australian author Margaret Way, a definite Leo, was born and raised in the sub-tropical river city of Brisbane. A Conservatorium trained pianist, teacher, accompanist and vocal coach, her musical career came to an unexpected end when she took up writing, initially as a fun thing to do. She wrote over a hundred books for Mills & Boon and writes for the Harlequin Presents and Harlequin Romance imprint in North America. In a statement to Mills & Boon's Centenary Celebration in 2008 she wrote (in the anthology The Boss's Proposal):

It's a source of great pride and wonder to me that I've been very much a part of one of the world's most successful and iconic publishing houses, Mills and Boon, As a young mother with an infant son, when I sat down at the kitchen table an wrote my first book (in longhand!), little did I know I was embarking on a career that was to sustain, reward and offer me fulfilment for just about my entire adult life. I would say Mills & Boon has been my life...It should be said Mills & Boon not only offers pleasure to our readership but comfort in times of family grief, turmoil and stress. My own readership has told me this in so many touching ways.
