Tyler was the first 12-book continuity series published by Harlequin. Set in the small town of Tyler, Wisconsin, it was followed by a second 12-book series, Hometown Reunion, as well as several additional spinoffs in the Harlequin American Romance line.

Each of the books' covers featured a quilt motif, and each of the books' titles used the quilting theme. Also, instead of being numbered, the books were ordered by letters, which appeared on the front cover and binding.
