Dean Robillard is the Chicago Stars quarterback and a natural born charmer who is breathtakingly handsome. He was on a road trip to Las Vegas but had just decided to head back to his farm in Tennessee when he sees a young woman walking down a Colorado road in a beaver costume. Blue Bailey is down on her luck -- her boyfriend has run out on her and someone has stolen her life savings -- and she has taken a job waving a sign on the road side (dressed as a beaver). Entertained, Dean first takes her to her rooming house and then offers to let her ride along on his road trip. Of course she ends up coming to his farm where he finds that his estranged mother is the person who has been hired to remodel the farm house. Complicating things further, Dean's half-sister, Riley, decides that he is the answer to her problems after her mother dies and their father leaves her in the care of a negligent nanny. Then Jack Patriot, a legendary rock star and Dean and Riley's father, shows up to try and re-establish a relationship with his children and finds a woman from his past that he has never completely forgotten or forgiven. Blue is just cranky and wacky enough to help Dean deal with all of this chaos, so he tells everyone that they are engaged.

Book Description
