Merline Lovelace started writing fiction after retiring from her first career: United States Air Force colonel. The Oklahoma-based author has traveled the world, and uses her extensive military background in her stories. Lovelace, whose father was in the Air Force, did a tour of duty in Vietnam. She is an award-winning author and is a member of the Oklahoma Romance Writers, a chapter of the Romance Writers of America, and the Romance Veterans.

Merline Lovelace won the 2001 RITA® in the Romantic Novella category for "Final Approach To Forever". She was a 2008 RITA® in the RITA®: Contemporary Series Romance: Suspense/Adventure category for her novel Stranded With A Spy.
