Book Description
Galeran returns home from the Crusades to find his wife -- for whom he'd remained celibate for two years -- holding a newborn child. Hers. Their own child has died. Galeran must find a way to forgive his wife and accept the child he didn't father. Jehanne, who has been running the keep since her husband left, must also deal with a slew off issues.
Jehanne tends to arouse strong emotions in readers. There is a camp that refuses to accept adultery of any kind, even in the context of the story. For others, it is the character herself that they do not connect to. Jo Beverley does not give her ready easy characters, nor does she give her characters easy choices. This allows her to rise above the large number of average romances writers to be truly great.
