Sebastian, the Marquess of Dain, had a tortured childhood, growing up to hate himself. It doesn't help matters when he meets Jessica Trent, the most self-assured woman he's ever encountered, in France -- she's come to rescue her easily-led brother from Dain's evil clutches. From her first set-down, he's intrigued. After a series of compromising situations requires them to marry, they return to England where they work to build a marriage, not easy with a man like Dain.

Lord of Scoundrels is found on many readers' all-time favorite lists due to an unusual combination of strong characterization, emotional depth, and laugh-out-loud humor.
