KNIGHT’S FORK is played out in a parallel universe, where Djinns and Otherworld creatures play cosmic chess with each other’s lives. It is a tale of repressed lust and love, frustrated desire and adultery, intertwined with Royal and Empirical power plays, set in outer space and a very strange Earth.

KNIGHT’S FORK is the first book of the series that I have had the pleasure of reading, so I am coming in at the ass-end. As such, I had a little difficulty in understanding just which name was who, and their back-story. Readers who have read the 2 prequels will have no problem in picking the white hats from the black by their names. Nevertheless, it was an intriguing and entertaining story with the necessary twists and turns skillfully executed as the game is played out to its final ‘Mate.
 +
There is an abundance of tongue-in-cheek humor, e.g. the sole human in the main cast is named Hugh Mann. And the repressed sex sizzles, although I found myself wanting more in the middle of the book.
 +
The story is well crafted and very readable. Electra ( good name! ) is suitably sexy and fetching, although her chastity belt does prove a slight encumbrance.  Grievous is a delight. I think I know him. And the Hero, Djarrhett, is suitably aloof and unattainable at the start, rapidly turning into an Electra-driven sexopath as he nears the elusive conquest of this married lady.
 +
Nothing is easy in this life, or in the parallel worlds, apparently, and this tale will hold you entranced ( by Djinncraft? ) as the final moves are made.
 +
A damned good read.
