'I do not like thee, Doctor Fell; the reason why, I cannot tell'. Miranda Young could not help thinking of the old rhyme when she became assistant Casualty Officer to Doctor Jonathan Fell, for her first reaction to him was one of dislike. He seemed to take a delight in finding fault with her, making no allowances for her lack of experience. In time, however, Miranda began to change her mind about him - and it was at that point that Jon's erstwhile fiancee, Desiree Landon, stepped in and decided to put a stop to things. Desiree didn't want Jon any more herself, but she was determinedthat no one else should have him either - and all the winning cards were in her hands.
