Book Description

The young widow Isobel Carnegie is much sought after for her beauty, as well as her fortune. But when she is kidnapped by the highland chieftain Hector MacLean it seems that he is only interested in her money. The gently-bred Isobel is horrified by the hard life led by the clansmen at Ardshee and when Hector is called to join the forces of Bonnie Prince Charlie she seizes her chance of escape. It is only when she meets up again with her once-proud husband, now weary and broken-hearted by the loss of his clan on the bleak battlefield of Culloden, that Isobel realizes where her heart truly lies.
