Megan Rose comes to Fredericksburg to take over her alcoholic father's veterinarian practice when he retires. One morning she finds a dog loose that has tags identifying it as belonging to the local computer mogul, Sutter Foley, a man who is reclusive and, as she finds out when she takes the dog home, not the owner of the dog. Megan convinces him to keep the dog, noticing also that he is very hot as well as being extremely rich.
