A Young Adult Series created by Ruth Glick and Eileen Buckholtz and Published 1988-1989 by Pageant Books.
On the surface, Charisma, Inc. is just a high-profile talent agency with gorgeous girls. But under that veneer, it's a private detective agency whose employees all double as undercover operatives as the need arises. The series follows three women - Samantha St. James, Amber Carson, and Kelly Ryan - on a number of adventures and mixes action, mystery and teen romance in each title.
Ten books were published as follows:
- Saber Dance - Samantha poses as a television reporter at the Goodwill Games, searching for an athlete who carries important information. But is hunky Russian skier Aleksandr Danchev the athlete in question, or just a dangerous distraction?
- Breathless - Amber poses as a model in a fashion video while searcing for a coast guard ship that has mysteriously disappeared. But can she trust a friendly blond diver named Steve who's got his eyes on her?
- Smokescreen - Posing as an intern in Washinton, DC, Amber tries to discover who's behind a sabotage plot, and avoid the gorgeous delivery guy who brought her a bomb instead of pizza.
- Desperado - Kelly Ryan poses as an actress in a western to see who's sabotaging the film - and finds herself possibly falling for the star.
- The Golden Hawk - Someone's been smuggling ancient treasures out of Egypt, and it's up to Samantha to find out who, with the help of mysterious Nick Sakkarah
- On Edge - Samantha poses as a figure skater in an attempt to find a European bent on defecting...before his countrymen do!
- Risky Venture - Playing bodyguard to a racehorse takes Amber out to the Bluegrass state and into danger.
- Roller Coaster - Samantha goes on vacation, only to discover her cousin's amusement park is having strange accidents.
- The Big Score - Amber poses as a cheerleader to track down the source that's providing several high school athletes with steriods, and finds herself attracted to a college-age coach who's not above suspicion.
- NightStalker - Samantha and Amber investigate a haunted house while participating in a photo shoot for a teen magazine.
