Book Listings
Since I'm doing a major author content load right now, I'm encountering a bunch o' "same title, different author" books, which I really enjoy (I have no idea why). However, I'm wondering if the process we're using is really that useful and efficient. My current thinking is that instead of listing the titles/authors on the Books (alpha) page and the omnibus title page, we should just list the title and let the users see the various authors, imprints, years when they click through to the page. The current setup looked good when there were just a few of these, but now it's seeming a bit messy both on the published page and working in edit mode.
Thoughts?--Romancewiki 10:44, 25 November 2007 (PST)
- You have been a busy girl! So you are suggesting that the Book alpha page would just have the title of the book that would link to the disambiguation page? Hmmm -- I kind of like having the books listed on the book alpha page, but now that we are getting so many it could be confusing or messy. I am not being very decisive right now. Would we need to let people know that if a book title was listed without author, year, etc. it means there is more than one book by that name? --Kay T 19:21, 25 November 2007 (PST)
- Yes -- very busy. You know me, I work offline for long periods then do major content dumps. Keeps things interesting (plus by working offline I avoid the distractions the Wiki provides (g)). In answer to your question, yes, we'll need to change the language on the main page (or pages) to indicate this. After the title, as well, I'm doing "Multiple Authors".
