Shades of Romance Magazine was created in 2000 because LaShaunda Hoffman, the publisher felt a need for more promotion for multi-cultural authors and their books. The online publication was selected as one of 101 web sites for writers by Writers Digest in 2002 and featured in Essence Magazine in 2003.

SORMAG has introduced its readers to some of the hottest multi-cultural authors and their books. It continues to help the aspiring writer on their publication journey by featuring articles about the craft and business of writing and host a forum for writers to network with other writers.

SORMAG hosts a bi-annual online conference and gives out Reader’s Choice awards every year in March.

In 2004 SORMAG started an online book club that features two chapter excerpts a week. In 2005 SORMAG moved to the blog concept for a more interactive way to communicate with its readers.
